Typing sessions · With Maeve Stoltz
A live session to settle your type.
Most people arrive here in one of two places. Either the type itself is still unsettled after months of reading, or the type is settled and the instinct and Trifix are not, which is the harder of the two problems and the one that self-typing rarely solves on its own.
A typing session is one hour on Zoom with Maeve Stoltz, a certified Advanced Enneagram Teacher, working through the Deep Inquiry Process. It listens to the language you actually use rather than asking you to choose from a set of descriptions, which is why it tends to find things a questionnaire cannot.
See how it worksThe process
Three parts, and only one of them asks anything of you.
i.
Before
The only preparation is to take our Enneagram test, since the open-ended answers you write there become the material for the session. Nothing else is required of you beforehand.
ii.
The session
One hour, live on Zoom. Maeve guides you through the Deep Inquiry Process using your own words from the test as the starting point, explaining how the inquiry works as you go, and documenting your responses throughout.
iii.
After
You receive a written report, usually within two to three business days, on how your personal lexicon and your microexpressions point toward particular type, Trifix, and instinct possibilities. Once you have read it, you can book a complimentary twenty minute follow-up call.

Maeve Stoltz, MFA
EA Advanced Enneagram Teacher
Maeve received her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Carlow University and completed advanced coursework in creativity coaching with the Creativity Coaching Association. Before she worked with the Enneagram she was a writing mentor and developmental editor specializing in literary memoir, and for more than a decade she coached new and advanced writers on the craft of writing and on the deep explorations of self that insightful memoir requires.
That interest in self-exploration and personality psychology led her to the Enneagram in 2018, and eventually to certification as an Enneagram coach and teacher with Empathy Architects. The creative mentoring background is not incidental to the typing work, since both depend on hearing what a person's language is doing underneath what it is saying.
What Maeve asks of you
Four things, in her own words.
Be as authentic as possible. I always tell people that results are only as good as the information I am given. Please give yourself permission to show up as you are and to be fully yourself, because that is the only way to guarantee as accurate a result as possible. There is no judgment from my side. I only want to discover what is true for you.
Stay open to whatever comes up. Many people arrive with a preconceived notion of their type, or already attached to a particular outcome. This session asks you to stay open to new possibilities and to be willing to look at yourself in a new way. Remember that I do not know you, which means I have no attachment to your results either way. My goal is always to be as objective as I can.
Try not to use the expected Enneagram language. People often reach for the words and phrases associated with the types in order to frame themselves a certain way, and those are rarely the same as the lexicon that emerges during the inquiry. Even when you do use type-specific language, if it is not truly coming from your type, that becomes obvious. Be as authentic as you can and I will do the rest.
Give me the benefit of the doubt. What is revealed does not always please everyone, particularly if someone comes in attached to an answer, and I will still be honest with you about what I see. Many years of knowledge, education, and research inform this process. I want everyone to feel satisfied with their session, and I am always aiming to give you what you have purchased, which is my expert opinion rather than a desired result.
Maeve Stoltz
It is difficult, and at times nearly impossible, to see ourselves objectively. That is why an educated and informed mentor tends to be worth the hour.
